Development of instructional materials for fast consultation in use of injectable antimicrobial

Objective: Report a case description of the validation process of the developing an educational and instructional material with technical and scientific content for the preparation and administration of intravenous antibiotics in hospital, checking their applicability to the multidisciplinary team.
Method: The research is characterized as a case study, and as such, has a descriptive, taking different steps to validate the process of developing an educational and instructional material and assessment of educational material for health professionals. Were involved different classes of antimicrobial therapy and consultation the references with good scientific evidence on the stability and dilutions of antibiotics.
Results: Thirty-two professionals from different categories were evaluators of the instructional materials, of which nursing assistants and technicians (84.38%), nurses (12.50%) and physicians (3.12%). Questions relating to content resulted in 50%: (n=16) and were rated as excellent by the professionals. On the issue of timeliness of information, there was also, predominance in the response classified as “excellent” (n=18) 56.25%. For other items, observed values were percentage close to 60% in the assessment considered “excellent”, respectively: relevance to reality and mastery of the content presented by the winemaker. In the analysis of didactic resources, the results presented as “excellent” showed the following percentages: graphic quality (n=22) 68.75%, didactic exposure and applicability in the routine, found the same percentages (n=20) 62.50%.
Conclusion: The process of construction of educational and instructional material, ratified our initial perception, which prompted us to develop it in written material. With practical applicability, being a valuable contribution to safely develop the activities of preparation and administration of injectable antibiotics in the rational use of antibiotics.
