Objective: To describe the role of the pharmacist in the multidisciplinary team of oncology treatment.
Methods: We conducted a qualitative and descriptive study with three hospital pharmacists with a focus of interest in the work of the pharmacist in a multidisciplinary team of oncology treatment.
Results: There were reported difficulties of acting with respect to the area of pediatric surgery because it involves more detailed process of pharmaceutical care and clinical acceptance of the body. The measure adopted by the staff of oncology treatment is done through updates and clinical pharmacy. And according to records of each patient that informs the best procedure for treatment and are willing recorded in the diary.
Conclusion: The pharmacist, with humanistic, is able to lighten the lives of those suffering from a disease as severe as cancer.
